Controlled Environment for Optimal Growth

Every aspect of the internal atmosphere is carefully regulated, including temperature, light, and humidity. This level of control ensures that plants can thrive year-round, without being affected by the unpredictability of seasonal changes.

 

To maintain perfect growing conditions, we utilize a variety of systems. Through a network of sensors and automation, the weather station consistently monitors external conditions, allowing the internal atmosphere to be fine-tuned in real-time, providing plants with the ideal conditions regardless of external weather fluctuations. Whether it’s a hot day or a stormy night, the greenhouse adapts instantly to provide a stable, optimal environment for plant growth.

Multi-Zone Growing for Versatility

The greenhouse is divided into separate growing zones, each specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of different plant species. These zones allow for tailored environments, whether tropical warmth, moderate temperate, or cool conditions, ensuring that each plant is provided with its perfect microclimate.

 

Temperature, humidity, and light levels can be individually adjusted for each zone, giving us the flexibility for the cultivation of a wide variety of crops in a single space.

Advanced Climate Control and Airflow

Efficient climate control is achieved through a variety of systems that maintain ideal growing conditions. Moving vent windows open automatically to cool the greenhouse when needed, while fans circulate air to prevent heat buildup. These systems, combined with passive cooling and convection flow principles, ensure that the temperature remains consistent throughout the space.

 

 In colder months, the boiler system and unit heaters work seamlessly to maintain warmth, ensuring that the plants’ needs are met year-round.

Cutting-Edge Water Management and Recycling

Three wells provide the water supply, feeding into holding tanks where the water is treated to meet the specific needs of the plants. The water undergoes sanitization, which oxygenates it, eliminating harmful bacteria and other contaminants. To further optimize plant growth, the water is treated with sulfuric acid, lowering its pH and reducing alkalinity, making nutrients more accessible to the plants, ensuring robust and healthy growth. The system’s smart irrigation network uses irrigation booms equipped with smart controllers to deliver water precisely where and when it’s needed, minimizing waste and ensuring each plant receives the perfect amount.

 

The greenhouse operates on a closed-loop water system, where 98% of the water is recaptured and returned through an intricate network of piping and a reclamation pit. This efficient recycling process makes our facility highly sustainable, significantly reducing water waste.

Dry Fog Irrigation Technology

One of the newest features of our facility is the use of dry fog for irrigation. A high-pressure compressor system generates air and water vapor at such a finely-tuned PSI that the water is broken down into nano-particles. These particles are so fine that they can be absorbed by the plants through their leaves, allowing for highly efficient, non-wasteful irrigation. This method of irrigation not only conserves water but also ensures that plants are watered evenly and thoroughly, without the risk of over-saturation.

Soil-less Media for Superior Growth

Instead of traditional soil, the plants thrive in a specially formulated soil-less media made from sphagnum peat, perlite and a proprietary blend of macro and micro elements. This unique blend ensures the ideal balance of porosity and water retention, providing plants with the perfect growing medium. Additionally, rice hulls are incorporated into the mix to further improve air exchange and root development.

 

To enhance plant nutrition, a starter charge is added to the soil-less media, and a constant feed system delivers essential nutrients to the plants at the right intervals. This ensures that each plant has everything it needs to grow strong and healthy, free from the limitations of traditional soil.

Automation is at the heart of our greenhouse, ensuring that each system works in harmony to optimize plant growth. Smart controllers manage every aspect of the environment, from temperature and humidity to water and nutrient delivery. The system’s integration means that adjustments are made in real-time, reducing human intervention and maximizing efficiency.

 

The irrigation booms ensure that water is delivered precisely to the plants, while waste is minimized. The entire system operates in a smart eco-system that uses data to continuously improve the management of resources. This level of automation reduces water usage, lowers energy consumption, and eliminates waste.
