The most distinctive feature of Calathea Network is its striking, mosaic-like leaf pattern. The leaves are oval and elongated, with a rich green color as the primary backdrop. What sets it apart is the fine network of light green or white veins running across the leaves, creating a lace-like, grid pattern that resembles a delicate network or web.
Calathea Network thrives in warm, humid environments, reflecting its tropical rainforest origins. It prefers bright, indirect light, as direct sunlight can scorch the delicate leaves and fade the beautiful variegation. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, it will thrive and show its best colors with proper lighting. It's important to avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this can damage the leaves and dull the patterns.
Calathea Network enjoys consistently moist, well-draining soil. Regular watering is essential, but the soil should be allowed to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot. Humidity is a key factor for success with this houseplant, and it should be placed in a location with higher humidity. In dry indoor conditions, misting the plant or using a humidity tray can help provide the moisture it needs to thrive. It prefers temperatures between 65°F and 80°F (18°C to 27°C), and it should be kept away from cold drafts or sudden temperature changes.
