The Boston Fern (Nephrolepis exaltata), also known as the sword fern or swordleaf fern, is one of the most popular and widely grown ferns, particularly for indoor and outdoor ornamental purposes. Known for its lush, graceful appearance, the Boston Fern houseplant features long, arching fronds that grow in dense, bushy clusters, creating a thick, vibrant green canopy. 

Boston Ferns can grow quite large and are known for their ability to tolerate a variety of conditions, although they do best in humid, shaded environments. Native to tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, the Boston Fern prefers moist, well-drained soil and thrives in indirect light. It’s often found in shaded forested areas in its natural habitat. When grown indoors, Boston Ferns do best in high-humidity environments, making them ideal for bathrooms or kitchens where moisture levels are naturally higher.
